In order to bring some semblance of structure to real estate activities in Armenia, ours at least, we have recently adopted the American Realtor Code of Ethics as our SOP, Standard Operating Proceedure. A few articles therein are not relevant to Colombia, for example, article eight deals with escrow accounts, there are none here, and articles fourteen through seventeen are focused on agent disputes, arbitration and penalties. Without an MLS system and a board to handle discipline, once again the articles do not apply. We know and understand that this is an informal regulation of our activities and does not apply to others. But we hope that it will bring some comfort to our clients when they have the knowledge that we will conduct ourselves to the highest standards as presented in the code. CÓDIGO DE ÉTICA DE REALTOR AMERICANO ADOPTADO COMO NUESTRO PROCEDIMIENTO OPERATIVO ESTÁNDAR

Con el fin de brindar cierta apariencia de estructura a las actividades inmobiliarias en Armenia, al menos a las nuestras, hemos adoptado recientemente el Código de ética de los agentes inmobiliarios estadounidenses como nuestro Procedimiento operativo estándar (SOP, por sus siglas en inglés). Algunos artículos del mismo no son relevantes para Colombia, por ejemplo, el artículo ocho trata sobre cuentas de depósito en garantía, no hay ninguno aquí, y los artículos catorce a diecisiete se enfocan en disputas de agentes, arbitraje y sanciones. Sin un sistema MLS y una junta para manejar la disciplina, una vez más, los artículos no se aplican.

Sabemos y entendemos que esta es una regulación informal de nuestras actividades y no se aplica a otras. Pero esperamos que traiga algo de consuelo a nuestros clientes cuando sepan que nos comportaremos con los más altos estándares como se presenta en el código.
